The Government of Pakistan has blazoned reviving the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme under Prime Minister Youth Program. 1 Lac Laptops will be distributed amongst the scholars under this scheme. This was blazoned by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs. Shaza Fatima stressed that Laptop Scheme will help scholars to continue their studies online and will also pave their way to explore online work options available around the Globe.
PM Laptop Scheme Eligible Universities:
Scholars studying in public sector Universities Degree Awarding Institutes and sub-campuses properly honored by HEC.( List will be displayed or the link will be attached).
PM Laptop Scheme Eligibility Criteria 2023:
Scholars enrolled not earlier than their separate program duration as per the table below The aspirant must have a valid CNIC/ B- Form number. Ineligible:
Scholars enrolled at any private sector advanced education institute( HEI). scholars enrolled at any government degree & postgraduate sodalities and combined sodalities. scholars who have formerly entered a laptop under any Federal or Provincial Government scheme. Foreign citizens, except scholars from AJK. Any other scholars not listed eligible criteria and/ or as linked and decided by the Steering/ Technical Committee. If any pupil has not applied online or his/ her operation has not been entered through the online gate. The eligibility for the laptop award will also be determined at the time ofdistribution.However, against the data which made him her good for a laptop, he she shall not be awarded a laptop, If pupil( s) failed to produce the needed documents and evidence of academic performance. Any named pupil who passed out the degree program previous to laptop distribution.
Laptop Distribution Strategy/ Selection Criteria:
Once the pupil has applied online( before the deadline) through the HEC online gate, the system will filter eligible and ineligible scholars consequently. The Focal Person of the applicable department will corroborate the pupil’s data through their online focal person account, specifically, Name, CNIC, Department, Degree Level, Last test chance/ CGPA,etc. The sole responsibility of the verification rests with the University Focal Person. Any distinction set up in the pupil's data will be amended consequently by updating/ editing pupil data after carrying pupil records from the Institute or from the scholars themselves. The focal person, upon the nature of the operation, can disapprove or corroborate the pupil or make the correction within the given timeline. Each Institute will be given their share of laptops grounded on a predefined quotation as outlined in eligibility and merit criteria. Once the deadline for verification from HEC has expired, the automated process will run on the system to induce merit lists for each University by HEC. also HEC will partake the provisional merit list among the institutes for theircross-checking, and institutes willcross-check and reply within 15 days. After the junking of disagreement from the provisional merit list, if any, HEC will partake the final merit list among the Institutes consequently. Every Institute must display the final merit list on their Notice board, Website, or Social Media runner with a timeline for the distribution. also, Final Merit Lists will be published on an online gate, where every pupil and the general public can view the merit status of each existent.
Laptop Distribution Criteria:
The distribution criteria have been defined as follows Laptops will be purely distributed on a merit base in each degree program(Ph.D., MS/M.Phil., and 16 Times of education). The share will be determined as per university registration, and the laptop share for each degree program will be determined( i.e., University Quota, Campus Quota, Degree program Quota, Department Quota, and Years-wise distribution). As per the PM office directives, Balochistan HEI’s share has been fixed i.e., 14( 14,000 Laptops) will be distributed in Balochistan HEI.( Note- scholars from Balochistan’s accredited universities would be accommodated under this allocated share). The remaining 86,000 laptops will be allocated among public sector HEIs in agreement with their registration preferences.PM Laptop Scheme Online Registration 2023.
